Reflecting on the state of gender equality in 2022, it was a year of both highs and lows. While feminist solidarity was seen across the globe and women made historic gains in political representation, girls’ and women’s rights were also rolled back, and they still have only three-quarters of the legal rights of boys and men. Looking ahead to 2023, there is hope for progress in gender equality, but it will require continued activism and advocacy.
